The Effect of Concussions on Teen Athletes
Recently, our friends at the Brain Injury Association of New Jersey were featured in an article entitled Teen Athletes More Susceptible to Concussions in the Herald News.
The story discusses the dangers of concussion in teen sports including the fact that teens need more time to recover from concussion after an injury. It also covers information about BIA-NJ’s sports concussion initiative and ImPACT testing.

Question – Have there been any studies or articles regarding ADD and concussions? My daughter has had three concussions in the last year. The first one we didn’t know about since she lied about her symptoms. The second happened within a week. We held her out for six weeks. The last happened ten months later. She had the impact test done between the second and third. After the third she was tested with the impact test and sat out four weeks. I’m concerned about how the concussion may have changed how she thinks. Since she is ADD she is an impulsive kid, but it seems worse since having the first two concussions. Any comments?
