Traumatic Brain Injury Act of 2006
New Jersey State lawmakers have introduced two bills memorializing Congress and the President to enact the "Traumatic Brain Injury Act of 2006." These bill are Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 116 [SCR-116] and Assembly Concurrent Resolution No. 212 [ACR-212]. I have attached these bills for your review.
We would like to have the State Senate and General Assembly pass both these bills and:
1) To have the Senate Health, Human Services & Senior Citizens Committee consider and pass SCR-116.
2) To have the Assembly Health & Senior Citizens Committee consider pass ACR-212.
In order for this to happen, we need to:
1) Contact State Senator Joseph Vitale – chair of the Senate Health, Human Services, & Senior Citizens Committee – and ask him to post SCR-116 on the next agenda of this committee.
2) Contact Assemblyman Herb Conaway – chair of the Assembly Health & Senior Services Committee – and ask him to post ACR-212 on the next agenda of this committee.
When you contact these members, it is important that you mention the TBI Act is:
* the only federal law that specifically addresses the issues faced by children and adults with traumatic brain injury; and,
* that it represents a foundation for coordinated and balanced public policy in prevention, education, research, and community living for persons living with a traumatic brain injury and their families.
Please feel free to convey your thoughts on how brain injury has impacted your life.
