North America Brain Injury Society’s Annual Medical and Legal Conferences
I have just returned from Minneapolis after attending the North America Brain Injury Society’s (NABIS) annual medical and legal conferences. Over 400 physicians, rehab specialists, providers and attorneys attended a three day conference in Minneapolis. The conference, sponsored by NABIS, in reality was two conferences, one for attorneys and a separate one for physicians, neuropsychologists and other brain rehabilitation professionals. Professionals from all over the country attended this three day conference, listening to presentations by some of the world’s leading experts in traumatic brain injury rehabilitation.
On the lawyers’ side, I was fortunate to have been invited to chair the 23rd Annual Medical Legal Conference on Traumatic Brain Injury. I not only moderated, but gave a one hour presentation familiarizing the attendees with the medical literature which debunks many of the myths commonly espoused by defense attorneys, defense forensic doctors and insurance claim adjusters.
