Armywide TBI/PTSD Education Programs Begin Next Month
Next month armywide educational programs will be given on post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries to every solder and leader, in an attempt to remove the current negative perception of seeking medical and psychological treatment for these diseases.
In addition to increased attention to soldiers returning home from war and more resources being made available to those soldiers, including brain screenings and psychological testing, these educational classes were created in the hopes of making people more aware of the importance of these tests.
An educational video and a comprehensive program of instruction will be given to troops Armywide. The Army hopes that within 30 to 45 days every soldier will be better equipped to recognize the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries, and will be comfortable to ask for help.
