Colorado School Requiring Soccer Headgear
I’ve written extensively here about the need for protective headgear for soccer players. It seems that some people are finally coming around.
Chris Woods, coach of the girls soccer team in Basalt High School, Colorado, will be requiring the use of headgear in the upcoming season. His decision was spurred by a collision between two high school players which resulted in both players being sent to the hospital with concussions. Coach Woods researched sports concussions for information to back up his decision. Though the girls were hesitant at first, they quickly accepted the initiative.
