Brain Injury Documentary, COMA
Academy Award nominated director Liz Garbus will debut her new documentary, COMA, Tuesday July 3 on HBO. Garbus’ documentary will explore the many facets of the brain injured world, and the steps the human brain and body take during the healing process.
Garbus explored the world of brain injuries with research and interviews from the Center for Head Injuries at the JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ, where she tells the stories of four families dealing with brain injuries. Garbus interviews the families of the brain injured, and looks to the physicians and neuropsychologists, led by Dr. Joseph Giacino and Dr. Caroline McCagg, for assistance in understanding the complex intricacies of traumatic brain injuries.
I think this documentary will shine a bright light on the many aspects of brain injuries most of us never get to see. You can read more on Garbus’ documentary, COMA, here.
