Utah Medical-Legal Seminar on Traumatic Brain Injury

On Thursday, March 9, I flew to Salt Lake City, Utah, a beautiful valley city nestled below the snow-capped mountains. I was there to attend this year’s Utah Medical-Legal Seminar on Traumatic Brain Injury.

The two-day conference was divided in two with Thursday being devoted to medical issues in traumatic brain injury where the invited guest speakers included William Singer, M.D., Gregory O’Shanick, M.D. and Erin Bigler, Ph.D.

On Friday, I was the first speaker invited to discuss case selection. My presentation centered on a discussion of what types of cases can be successfully litigated and what factors detract from a client’s claim.

I followed that presentation with a second presentation discussing the ten myths of traumatic brain injury along with supporting medical literature which would debunk those myths. It is my hope to have an interactive presentation up on our blog within the next month on this topic accompanied by a detailed PowerPoint presentation.
